Baby B, Seven Months Old

Okay, so I always say that between 6-9 months is my favorite age to photograph a baby... and the most photographed baby in all of Columbus did not disappoint on Tuesday. Took the boys for a little zoo visit and look who was out to play!

I was pretty giddy to finally get my own picture of the new baby elephant at the zoo. I know I'm a geek... especially since I couldn't resist photoshopping out the zoo fences in the background or the zoo keeper that was just in front of Beco leading the way. It is breath taking to watch mama P and her baby B together. They stay so close to one another...this might have been the furthest they separated in the 15 minutes we watched them. She is an amazing mama.

Because I couldn't decide, here's the back and white version.

And in case you missed my subtle hint, between 6 and 9 months is the perfect age for baby portraits. I still have openings for in-studio baby sessions this fall if interested.

Brothers, Kiddo C and Toddler E

When exchanging emails in preparation for their session, their mama really only had one request and that was for color! She prefers color over black and white images, and so I was very excited that she picked the perfect weekend for our session. Fall color was at a peak for the Inniswood sessions... and her boys adorable. Love two boy families... the "hug" in this first image is the perfect brotherly hug! Worked hard to capture a good assortment of together images since I know these are tricky to get with brothers.

They were wishy-washy on family pictures, but I insisted we toss in a couple. Glad we did... I like the second image below just as well as the first.

Lovely, Newborn C

There is not a more perfect word to describe newborn C than "lovely." She is simply lovely, and at seven days old pretty good at posing for the camera too. I think she and her mama have been practicing.

And as cute as she is all posed up, there is something so genuine about the very first image I snapped today. I remember holding my boys this exact same way in those early days.

And this one of dad comforting her between poses.

Going DIGITAL!

You might have already heard the news! Everyday Studios has gone digital! I'm very excited to announce a new line of packages that include the digital images from your session in high resolution quality at an affordable price!!! Yes, you can print and reprint and use them however you'd like! They are high resolution and watermark free.

I've made the move to digital packages because as I have evolved as a photographer and a mom, I believe my images work together to tell a story. Sometimes one of my favorite images from a set is a little detail that you might not really want to print very big or even at all... but one that should not be lost on my hard drive forever. A little image like this one that I took the other night on my family pumpkin patch outing. L carries little things with him everywhere we go, one day he will grow out of this, and I don't want to forget this about him. Since I started I have too many of these little memories that go unpurchased and stored in an archive never to be seen again. This makes me sad...

Or a series like this one that I grabbed of my little M last week... maybe only the middle one will ever be printed, but the other two complete the set... and I am saddened at the thought of separating any more of these little sets.

I need for you to have the digital images to continue to feel good about being a family photographer. This might sound strange but it is true. And I'm not stopping there... every digital package includes beautiful, unique keepsakes. I know the tendancy can be to store a disc away and then forget about it before prints can be made, and again this would sadden me... so I'm getting you started with set 5x7 prints from your session packaged beautifully in this stunning custom keepsake box.

Keepsakes vary based on package... please check my website www.jessiweithmanstudios.com for details on my 2009 introductory pricing on digital sessions. For now I am continuing to offer traditional packages as well, but I would love to convert all of my sessions over to digital.

My Little Owls and Personal Upcoming Session Prep

We visited the pumpkin patch tonight and I tossed my camera into my husband's hands for a quick shot of myself with the boys. For the hundreds of photographs I snap of the boys in a year, there are only a handful that include myself... and not really many with my husband either.

Tomorrow we are going to work on fixing that some. My family has our first session scheduled with a professional photographer. We've already been rained out once this past Friday. I've changed my mind on outfits 4x while spending too much on new clothes. We managed hair cuts for all, and am about to pull a last minute change on location. Uh! We were planning a pretty cool corner lot with some old broken down trucks and the like, but drove past tonight after pumpkins and discovered huge mud puddles covering the entire area. Boo.

I've decided that being on the other side of the lens is a lot of work! So thank you all for everything you do to prepare for your sessions!

Vintage Newborn B

Just finished up Newborn B's gallery, and had a little fun with some new photoshop techniques. I do think this is probably my favorite from his session. He is perfection.

And the color version, with a touch of canvas texture.

Peek-A-Boo, Toddler G

I went through a phase where I used to add story collages to nearly every gallery... I've been out of the habit. But this little set just belongs this way. {click image to see a big bigger}

My session last week was with his newborn little brother, but we grabbed a few of now big brother G on a feeding break. He got really sick the next day, poor guy! But reports are he is much better now.

Holiday Gift Idea No. THREE!

Because grandparents deserve stocking stuffers too, I share the grandparent album. These little 3x3 albums include an assortment of images from your session and are sold in sets of three. Perfect for the grandparents to carry around and show off their little loves. These little gems are included in my new digital packages as well.

Pumpkin Love, Baby B

Sweet baby B is six months old already! Our first session together was at one day old, and I've seen her through my camera a few times since. She came over for a quick in-studio baby session, and today was my favorite session with her!

Her momma and I did a little Etsy shopping last week to prepare. She wasn't quite ready for sitting on her own yet, but we still managed this next shot. Today we learned that she is not a fan of her belly touching my hardwood floors or my fluffy little rug nested in a bowl. We found her match in one of my big oversized pillows. She even fell asleep for us.... and took a little whiz on it too.

Here's the top image in black and white. Cannot decide which I like best. So classic here, but those eyes... wow!

PS. Yes, this tutu and hat are available for future baby day sessions. I'm in love with this little combo!

Everything about this age, Baby J

Baby J and his parents visited my studio spaces today. And I was reminded all over again that there is just something about a baby that is nine months old that screams... "love me." The drool, the huge smiles... still 1000% baby with little man mixed right in. Baby J was no exception, you cannot help but love him.

I've been wanting to bring this little rocking horse uptown for a long time now, so glad I did today.

Holiday Gift Idea No. TWO!

Everytime I open a shipment of these frames, I think my heart flutters just a bit. I love them. They grace many walls in my own home. I've been resisting these little round ones for a while now, and I have no clue why. I opened my first shipment of them this past week... and well, I'm pretty sure my heart stopped for a moment. They are lovely. So pretty, so charming... and you can get this little trio complete with the prints for less than $200! These lovelies do take about 6 weeks to arrive from order day and I have to bundle orders to reach minimums, so last day for holiday ship will be November 5. These are a must have for under the tree this year...

Ten Days Old, Newborn B

The youngest of four, newborn B is bound to be extra spoiled... especially by his older teenage sisters. I know his mama from when we worked together at the library on web projects, and was very excited when she emailed a bit last minute to request a session. He was a touch fussy today, but with some patience did great. I'm betting he slept solid the hour after I left. ;-)
