My Boys, Out and About

A few hours before my sis called to tell me she was in labor, I did a little impromptu photo session with my boys in Downtown Marysville. The weather was a touch cooler making fall clothes possible (what is with this weather lately?), and everyone has been asking about the downtown sessions and how they work with younger kids. I cannot believe how quickly they are growing up.

L is nearly three now, and carries all those silly animal toys everywhere we go. M is 16 months today. He is still not talking much, but he sure can "hoot" like an owl.

I'm in Love, Newborn S

I'm an aunt!!! Yes, for the first time. I'm totally in love with this little guy. He melts me. He was born on Sunday at 11:26, weighing in at 7lbs, 1.9oz (I guessed 7lbs, 2oz... how's that for accuracy!)

I was lucky enough to be in the room cheering and coaching along when he was born. My sister is a champ. She kept us all awake all night long on Saturday night working on bringing baby S into the world. I'm getting too old for overnighters.

I'll share many, many more images of this little guy in the weeks and years to come, for now just this one that I snapped today while visiting in the hospital.

On a business note, I'm behind. Behind on everything. So if you are waiting for session galleries, designs, invoices, responses for Out and About bookings, etc. it'll be just a few more days for me to get my head above water again.

So Sleepy, Newborn M

I was trying really, really hard to complete newborn M's gallery tonight, but I'm struggling to keep my eyes open. Seems appropriate this is my last image of the evening.

Happy Birthday D!

D just celebrated his fourth birthday last weekend, and I was lucky enough to get to photograph him and little brother O to capture the "I'm FOUR!" milestone at the Park of Roses. O's birthday is in the winter, so it is fun that we get to capture a mix of sun and snow for their regular sessions...

Just a Little Bit Shy, Toddler G

Sweet toddler G recently celebrated her second birthday! She is a little bit shy, which makes it all the more rewarding to capture the great big giggles in images. The Park of Roses in Clintonville was beautiful last week, by the way. If you live in the area, do plan a visit!

G's mama works at the library... so I couldn't resist adding in just a touch of fairy tale.

I do offer a discount on prints for all library families! Contact me today for details.

Rain, rain, stay away!, Baby A

We just managed to sneak in Baby A's one-year session today before the weather took a turn for the worse. We had to pull his cake away in the midst of a lightening storm... poor little guy!

I'll be away from email the rest of the weekend, but wanted to post this quick preview from his session this morning. It has been a super busy week, so to everyone waiting for previews, album designs and galleries... it'll be soon, I promise. But first I need a break! Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Introducing Baby Days!

By popular request, I'm introducing a brand new series of photo sessions... called Baby Days! Four times each year, I will offer a small number of sessions in my home nursery space. The sessions will each last 20-30 minutes with the goal of capturing sweet expressions and milestones between the popular newborn and one-year session. These sessions are limited to babies between the ages of 2 and 10 months... and are intended for the baby and mommy/daddy only and not siblings.

Session cost is $75 and includes one 8x10 and 16 wallets. Additional prints can be purchased at list price. This is perfect for the family looking to capture milestones along the way without booking a full session.

My 2009 Baby Days will be:
> Friday, August 14 (morning and evening times)
> Friday, November 13 (morning and late afternoon times)

Spaces are limited. The session fee is due at time of booking to hold your space.

My assistant Julie and I did a trial run tonight with her sweet Baby B, now 3 months old. Isn't she the sweetest?

Newborn M, and her big sister A

Meet sweet oh-so-tiny newborn M! Less than a week old and already posing for the camera. She was wide-eyed and ready to go when I arrived.

I'm loving the summer babies because we get to outside! The warm, sunny air was perfect for a little nap.

Before my boys were born I used to sew, now my unfinished quilts make the perfect photo accessories. This is one of my favorite sets of fabric and the first time its been used to swaddle.

Big Sister A is adapting well to baby M. She gives her lots and lots of kisses, and then wants to go play. She did give me a run for money though, because she is "so fast... swoosh!"

This image is one of my favorite from the session. I think because it is the one true gap I have in all the images that I have captured of my boys. There is something so perfect about a new baby and her parents together.

A Sunkissed Wheat Field, Senior C {Central Ohio Senior Photographer}

When C called me just over a week ago to ask if I could fit in her session over the weekend, I hestitated for a brief moment only because my calendar is jam packed this week... then she said "wheat field about to be harvested." And I said "What time?" Seriously how could I pass this up?

The evening was perfect, lovely temperatures, gorgeous sunset and beautiful smiles. We were both pretty itchy by the end of her session, but I escaped without poison ivy. Hope she did, too!

Her brother and family joined in for a couple too. He'll be a freshman this year.

Enjoy your preview! Entire gallery coming shortly!

What Your Shoe Style?

The bathtime shutterfly contest winner is Cheryl, she picked up a snazzy $10 gift card from Target and a fun outside bath time session at my place later this summer for sweet E! Cannot wait to see you again!

Cheryl has also been after me for a long while to do some memes on my blog to share more about me. So, here's the first all about my shoe style.

{what's your favorite shoe-color? red is my favorite color for a shoe, i have three pairs currently. most others in my closet are black.}

{my shoe story? i'm indecisive when it comes to which shoes to wear often trying on one of each, once i made it all the way to my destination in mismatched shoes... but only once!}

{do you splurge on shoes? i used to spend a fortune on shoes. now i'm super practical and only buy about two pairs each season to rotate into the mix}

Play along! If you are a regular reader with a blog, post three things about your shoe style on your blog and add a comment here with a link to your site.

P.S. For summer time sessions, I still say skip the shoes! Nothing like barefeet in the summer time.

Silly photos of my boys from tonight, playing with mama's shoes.

Three is a Magic Number, Newborn H

I met newborn H and his parents this morning for a session. I'm only quickly reviewing the images before my evening session, and this one just grabs me. One of my favorite things about newborn sessions is capturing the newness of parenthood.

My Guy, 15 Months

My little guy is 15 months, hard to believe. We spent the entire day together without his brother home on Friday, so I couldn't resist snapping a few images to record his 15 month milestone. Still my baby...

Favorite Things

I started my own photography business for a handful of reasons... high on the list is that I love to create and design things. My own boys can only have so many photobooks and little albums before I'm deemed certifiably crazy, so the only real solution was to start creating fun little albums for others.

Here's a sweet little accordian album that I just designed for sweet toddler A who is celebrating her second birthday today (7/3). Happy Birthday A! I must say that red ruby shoes are one of my favorite things too!
