Three is a Magic Number, Newborn H

I met newborn H and his parents this morning for a session. I'm only quickly reviewing the images before my evening session, and this one just grabs me. One of my favorite things about newborn sessions is capturing the newness of parenthood.

My Guy, 15 Months

My little guy is 15 months, hard to believe. We spent the entire day together without his brother home on Friday, so I couldn't resist snapping a few images to record his 15 month milestone. Still my baby...

Favorite Things

I started my own photography business for a handful of reasons... high on the list is that I love to create and design things. My own boys can only have so many photobooks and little albums before I'm deemed certifiably crazy, so the only real solution was to start creating fun little albums for others.

Here's a sweet little accordian album that I just designed for sweet toddler A who is celebrating her second birthday today (7/3). Happy Birthday A! I must say that red ruby shoes are one of my favorite things too!

In My Garden, This Week

It's been a few weeks since I shared some garden love, so I did a quick stroll around my yard tonight and turned up some of my early July favorites. Balloon flowers are the perfect perennial for a children's garden. They blow up just like balloons and then pop right open.

Our first spring in our house, we planted purple and white coneflowers on the side. The purple ones spread everywhere. The white ones disappeared all but two little plants now in our front yard.

Daisies make everyone smile, right? Hope they are still in bloom for my next girly session... I'll bring some along for a little game of he loves me, he loves me not.

And finally, my day lilies are out in force this year....

My favorite lily is still the Tiger Lily, aka Ditch Lily. The patch in our yard is a transplant from my mama's garden.

Happy Fourth everyone! Lots of sessions coming up in the next few weeks, including a new baby just born yesterday! Lucky me!

Grandma's Cupcakes, Wedding C

If I had to pick, I'd say the only thing sweeter in life than grandma's homemade cupcakes is ....

... sisterhood! Love these two sugary sweet little girls! They were soooo good today for their parents wedding at OSU.

I'll post more images from their wedding day soon!

Meet Chelsey, Senior Rep Class of 2010 {Central Ohio Senior Photographer}

Meet Chelsey, a senior at Marysville High School. Chelsey's calendar is extra tight this summer as she is assisting with a youth basketball camp in town, but we found time in our schedules for her senior rep session. She is both beautiful and sporty, and managed to look stunning even in the hot, hot temperatures this week.

I'm officially booking Senior Sessions starting in mid-July through the fall. I'm offering 4 packages, and a Senior Day in September for those on a budget. Stop by my web site www.jessiweithmanstudios.com for details on pricing.

At Grandma's House, Baby K

Baby K is celebrating her first birthday on Monday! Her parents are both in the military and stationed overseas, so this super sweetie is hanging out with grandma and her aunties these days on a gorgeous farm up near Amish Country. I visited today and we lunched, played and played some more. Happy Birthday! Enjoy your birthday cake. Grandma is a great cook, so I'm sure it'll be extra tasty and sugary.

Her toesies are extra sweet, she kept crossing them just like a little lady when we popped her into the grass.

Yep, I was standing in the creek to snap these. She had me working hard for those sweet, scrunched-up smile faces.

I picked up this too-cute tutu last week from Tiara's Tutus on Etsy. It arrived just in time for our session today.

Nearly Two & the Hottest Day of the Year, Toddler A

Toddler A stole my heart... I cannot believe how happy she was for our entire session down on Ohio State Campus despite the sweltering heat. It was just over 90, but the humidity was over the top this afternoon. We managed to find some areas to play in the shade. She is a library baby, daughter of OSU alumni and born one day shy of the fourth of July. Cannot get any better than that.

I'm pretty sure I captured more giggly face than serious ones, even so, I still love those serious toddler faces. These are definitely two of my favorites from her session.

And watch out Gordon Gee... this girl is after your job. ;-)

Okay I have to stop with this one or there will not be any surprises when I post the gallery.

Randomness x Four

I realized it has been over a week since I last blogged, so I thought I'd share some random images that I have snapped during that time.

First, my beautiful sister is expecting a little guy later this summer. I'm so giddy to become an aunt, and cannot wait for his arrival. We had a shower for her over the weekend, and afterwards I captured this image of her sweet little belly.

We hit the beach for the first time this season, and my little L was very excited about it as you can see.

We visited my cousin's farm and I captured these images that I love of her daughter.

And the coneflowers in my yard have officially started to open. Summer is without a doubt in full swing now.

Assuming we can keep the rain away, I have a few sessions this weekend including twins, a sweet two-year girly and a one-year birthday sweetie too.

Two, two... I am two!

L was in charge of picking ONE name out of the pickle jar yesterday for my most recent contest... but he grabbed two. Wouldn't give them back insisting that he was two, and he wanted two names.

So in honor of my totally TWO year old toddler, I'm giving TWO prizes! Amanda, mommy to new TWO-week old baby girl and Beth, mommy to a TWO-year old little girl, are the official winners this go around. You both receive a $50 photo credit towards a future session. Email or call to claim your prize!

Thank you all for your great comments, and I hope I have started a pickle jar trend.

Berry Picking Fun, My Boys

We hit the berry patch this morning, and my little guys loved it. It has been a little bit since I shared pics of them here, so why not today? L is the best berry picker...

He was so proud of himself for harvesting such a great crop!

M loved the berries too. He filled up his whole belly!

We went with sisters A and E. Older brother C and baby B too, but they missed my camera today.

I snapped a few images of the berries when we got home. Yes, these were the better looking ones. They were pretty rough after L had squeezed them in the picking process.

The fields emptied out when the raindrops started falling...

Thanks J for inviting us along! We had fun!

Yummy Frames

I've been painting this week! My office space has a fresh new color and now I'm working on some new displays. I picked up these frames over a year ago and they have floated around in all types of displays. They just found a more permanent spot in my son's room today! I actually wasn't sure what I was going to do with them, and almost put them out for sale... then while trying to get to sleep last night I came up with putting them in his room. I'm so happy I did! They match so well... almost like it was planned.

These frames are so yummy, and come in soooo many colors. I'm offering 10% off through the end of this week on this line of frames (Wild Sorbet) since I'll be ordering some new ones at the end of the week for my newly painted display walls.

A Perfect Pair!

Truly beautiful images belong both on your walls and in beautiful keepsake albums, this is why my little session albums team so beautifully with the lovely Obrien Schridde line of frames that I so adore and sell. I have this snowy image on my living room wall right now, and it makes me so happy seeing my little guy with his oh-so-rosy snowy day cheeks. I also have a gorgeous 10 page white keepsake album featuring images from the snowy day back in January. This was one of those days I wanted to box up and keep forever... now I kinda of can.

I have an ongoing special for this delightful combination. The print for the frame is on the house anytime you purchase a frame and album combination from a single session. Print size up to 11x11/11x14. One print per session qualifies for this offer.

In My Garden, This Week

First congratulations to Dianna B for picking up a $25 print credit. I'm photographing her wedding in August, so I'm sure this will come in handy! She was the only one to attempt to identify the plants in last week's post. They were: Jupiter Beard, Smokebush (this shrub is enormous and all poofy now!), May Apple, Thrift, Coral Bells, Sweet Bay Magnolia, and Cotton Lavender. Thanks Dianna for playing along! Cannot wait for your big day to arrive!

A few of this week's are a bit easier, so I'm looking for anyone that can identify the most, but at least 3 of the plants for a $25 future print credit...

A Personal Share

I just put together a little book on Shutterfly for my boys. It is a whole new spin on the traditional books because it is vertical (turn your head for best viewing)! And even better two books in one. The first 14 pages are my Baby M's story and the last 14 pages (starting at the back and meeting in the middle) are my L's bath story.

Click here to view this photo book larger

And did you all know that those codes on Pampers = Shutterfly products. I had no idea, until about 3 months ago when I started collecting the codes. The best part is that I have bought enough diapers to earn this book for free! So cool... and L is even potty trained now, so think of all the books I could have been earning when I had two butts in diapers.

More Fire Truck Fun, Family T

You might remember sweet little K from her tutu and firetruck one-year session back in November. She is 18 months now (wow!), and this time we found a real fire truck just for her.

Her big brother J loved the fire truck too, of course!

And her cousins C and T from Illinois joined in for the fun!

And we even managed one of the cousins all together, fire truck included.

Thanks so much for the guys at out Allen Twp Fire Department for bringout out the smiles this past weekend.

Just Announced, Extra June Out and Abouts

I've added two brand new Out and About sessions to my calendar. Both are at parks in Marysville as follows:

Friday, June 12 >> Eljer Park, Marysville (2 openings, evening)
Wednesday, June 17 >> Schwartzkopf Park, Marysville (2 openings, evening)

Both parks offer great options for capturing some summer fun. Sessions are low-key, and the goal is to capture your kiddos being themselves on a beautiful summer evening.

Here's a little bonus preview from Saturday's Out and About session, Kiddo R (baby A's big brother):

Grandpa's Cool Truck, Newborn A

Some grandpas seriously have the coolest trucks. Baby A isn't newly born, since she is already 9 weeks old... but she is still oh-so tiny. She was under 4 pounds at birth and still has a touch of the brand new baby look. I only had a short time with her since her session was part of an Out and About session with her older siblings, but we capture some great shots very quickly.

I'm not so sure she was entirely happy with me for putting her naked on the truck, check out that hand gesture in the image below. ;-)

Exciting News!

I have some very exciting news in that I will finally be getting more sleep! One of my good friends and first photo client has officially joined the Everyday Studios team. Julie will be helping me process orders, invoices and session bookings as well as assisting with marketing efforts... and delivery of products to you!

This will allow me not only more sleep, but the ability to focus fully on photography and the artistic process of editing your images to create Family Art for you.

Over the next few weeks, we will be working out the details. She did place her first order for me this week, and it should arrive on Monday! Welcome Julie! I'm so happy you'll be joining in the fun!

Happy Memorial Day!
